Abu Dhabi – August 6, 2025 – ADNOC Gas, the integrated gas business of the UAE’s ADNOC, has announced plans to channel $20 billion in capital expenditures over the next four years, aimed at turbocharging processing capacity, LNG exports, and advanced gas infrastructure developments. One major near-term decision will focus on the Bab Gas Cap project, slated for a final investment decision by next year.
1. Meram Project (Ethane & NGL Recovery)
Targeting increased extraction of ethane and other natural gas liquids, the Meram project will supply feedstock to the massive Borouge 4 petrochemical complex at Ruwais. Phase 1 is expected to wrap by late 2025. A $3.6 billion EPC contract was awarded in 2023 to NMDC Energy with Spain’s Técnicas Reunidas.
2. Integrated Gas Development Expansion (IGD-E2)
Designed to boost Habshan’s offshore gas processing by 200–400 million cubic feet per day, IGD-E2 is nearing completion with EPC led by Técnicas Reunidas and Target Engineering Construction. Final output is expected in early 2025.
3. Habshan CO₂ Recovery (CCUS Initiative)
This advanced Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) facility is set to capture and store up to 1.5 million tonnes of CO₂ annually and is on track for commissioning in early 2026.
4. Rich Gas Development (RGD)
A $5 billion FID has been secured for this multi-site enhancement program, which aims to significantly scale gas processing capabilities across four facilities.
5. Bab Gas Cap
Still awaiting a final investment decision (expected by 2026), this project adds 20% more processing capacity and is closely tied to upstream upstream feed and condensate availability.
6. Ruwais LNG Facility
Projected to deliver 9.6 million tonnes per annum of LNG by 2028, this new plant will more than double ADNOC’s LNG-exports footprint.
With rising operational pressures and front-line exposure to corrosive gas streams, ADNOC Gas’s infrastructure demands materials that are both resilient and efficient. This is where FUGO TECH’s clad plates shine:
Dual-grade construction: Carbon-steel core provides structural strength, while cladding in stainless steel, nickel, or titanium ensures superior corrosion resistance.
Advanced bonding: Manufactured using explosion welding or roll bonding—methods that ensure stable, high-integrity lamination.
Versatile applications: Ideal for high-pressure vessels, offshore piping, heat exchangers, CCUS modules, and LNG plant components.
Operational benefits: Offers longevity, reduced maintenance, and improved lifecycle costs—aligning perfectly with ADNOC Gas’s low-carbon and efficiency goals.
By integrating FUGO TECH’s clad materials during the FEED and EPC phases, ADNOC Gas can secure long-term infrastructure resilience and support its transition to sustainable gas operations.
