The Tuna-1 well, located in the Sakarya Gas Field approximately 175 kilometers off the coast of Ereğli, was drilled to a depth of 4,525 meters and revealed over 100 meters of gas-bearing reservoirs in Pliocene and Miocene sands. This discovery, estimated at 11 trillion cubic feet (approximately 320 billion cubic meters) of natural gas, marks the largest find in the Turkish Exclusive Economic Zone and the entire Black Sea region.
